Chief of Staff

The Chief of Staff has responsibility to maximize the experience of the main asset of our business… our staff. The main function of this role is to enhance 20nine employee engagement.

 The Chief of Staff (CoS) plans and directs all administrative and operational activities for 20nine’s President and CEO and other executives as needed. Organizes and prioritizes critical issues and required information for the executive(s) to facilitate efficient decision making. Acts as a point of contact or gatekeeper between top management and other stakeholders. Is responsible for the management of executive support staff. The Chief of Staff reports to the CEO and COO. The CoS manages all Human Resource functions such as: recruiting, new hire onboarding, benefits, rewards and recognition, organizational structuring, and helps facilitate employee conflict and resolutions with management.

Responsibilities

  • Build and develop relationships with all employees for increased efficiency and effective responsiveness into existing operations, and help to define new operational strategies, working with the CEO and executives on special projects.
  • Serve as liaison between staff, executives, senior leaders, and CEO, regarding culture, employee well-being and planning.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, handling inquiries and developing action plans to address them, and assisting with the preparation and dissemination of communications.
  • Act as the human resource department for new hires, including documentation and onboarding, offboarding and collaborate to address and act as the initial point of contact for all employee concerns.
  • Oversee daily operations through collaboration with senior management and department leaders, performing an array of administrative tasks from managing calendars, generating correspondence, maintaining hard copy and electronic files, planning and coordinating annual corporate meetings and scheduling facilities.
  • Ensure that all the projects for our leadership team are managed in a single place, are updated on a weekly basis, and are aligned with the priorities (WIGs) of the company.
  • Assume ownership of projects and tasks typically managed by the CEO and COO on an operational, tactical, and strategic level, and reliably produce quality work with minimal supervision.
  • Drive, execute and complete projects that don’t clearly fall within a department, but pertain to improvements for the employees and the leadership team that require working collaboratively across multiple departments and leaders.
  • Support our leaders by providing accurate updates on projects and initiates, including the results and challenges, on a weekly and ad-hoc basis.
  • Oversee all office needs such as office supplies, cleaning supplies, refreshments, building maintenance and catering as needed.
